Hey, everyone!

Lots to discuss as training camp opened yesterday. Big news outside of Edmonton, too, as it appears Mitch Marner’s time in Toronto appears to be coming to an end, and we’re approaching even money as to whether he plays another shift in the Windy CN Tower.

There were a ton of media hits from Oilers both current and hopeful from the first day of main camp, including an update from Connor McDavid regarding his health.

Here`s coach Dave Tippett`s:

Head on over to the Oilers`official website for more media availabilities.

Kyle Brodziak made his retirement official yesterday, after news broke earlier this week that he would not be able to pass his physical to be cleared to play this season. A former seventh-round pick, he amassed over 900 career NHL games, a true testament to his perseverance and ability. Congratulations on a career, Kyle.

Milan Lucic spoke to the media from the Windy Cowboy yesterday, too. I’m still 50/50 on whether I include it, but if you, like me, find it fascinating to hear appliances speak, it might be worth your time.

The Edmonton Oilers officially unveiled their third jersey for this season, which, I must admit, is atrocious.

Another training camp battle worth watching over the next couple of weeks: the non-Adam-Larsson-top-four-RD-role. In fact, there are a few roles up for grabs this fall. A couple of forwards will almost certainly be playing above their station, but it’ll be interesting to see who Dave Tippett likes, and where.

The NHL made a slight tweak to its tie-breaker rules for the 2019-20 season, with regulation wins now carrying more weight than the traditional ‘ROW’ - regulation and overtime wins.
