Morning!
Rookie camp ended with a whimper last night, as the Calgary Flames rookies won 3-1 to sweep the miniseries. Evan Bouchard, the Oilers’ best prospect outside the NHL as per our Top 25 Under 25 rankings, tallied the lone Oilers marker across the two games. Offensively, the team was uninspiring, including both Tyler Benson and Cooper Marody, who couldn’t break through.
Main Camp gets underway shortly as the boys are back in town and gearing up for physicals in a couple of days. I wonder whether rookie camp has helped or hurt either Benson or Marody’s chances to make the first team. We’ll find out soon enough.
