Morning, folks!
The hot topic today remains at least tangentially associated with Jesse Puljujarvi, as his current former teammate Leon Draisaitl opened up about the situation at the BioSteel camp yesterday, presumably after drinking the pink.
The interview piqued the interest of some Eastern media types, with many focused on Drasaitl’s demeanor being worth digging into. I’ll be honest, I think that’s ridiculous, but I’ll be even more honest and say still, something about it didn’t quite land right for me. Even today I’m not sure I can best articulate why, but something about it I just didn’t like. Your mileages will almost certainly vary, but I was left wanting a bit more from someone I assume is part of the leadership group. I’m not sure if that’s fair, or good, and I understand rallying around who you have and who wants to be there, I do. Obviously I’m still not sure how to feel about it. Let us know your take in the comments.
The Top 25 Under 25 continued with Kailer Yamamoto at #9. Wheel back around this afternoon to see who finished ahead of him.
News broke yesterday that Jim Playfair expects Adam Larsson and Darnell Nurse to get a look as the Oilers’ shut down pair and I’ve got to tell you, I have questions.
1 - Who’s going to make an exit pass?
2 - Are we talking year 1 Adam Larsson, or last year’s Adam Larsson?
3 - Has James watched even one minute of tape on his new charges?
Anyway, it’s Thursday. Let’s keep it light. Enjoy your days, and we’ll see you tomorrow. Or, later this afternoon, for the T25 U25. Yes. Then.
