T25 U25: Lots to catch up on over the weekend PLUS a whole lot more! (I think, I haven’t looked yet. I write these before I write the article, it’s a workflow thing.)

Good morning!

Let’s get it. The biggest news to cross my plate this weekend was Patrik Laine’s interview, in which he was very, disconcertingly (if you’re a Winnipeg Jets fan) non-committal about his future in Manitoba. Might the Oilers be able to do some finagling to get this generation’s Kurri to play alongside this generation’s Gretzky? (Yes, I said it.)

The Oilers were quiet once again, but that doesn’t mean we were! Three (3!) articles in our T25 U25 series hit the website this weekend, so definitely check in there before #18 releases later this afternoon. Who will it be?!

Here’s where we’re at so far:

#19 - Stuart Skinner

#20 - Ilya Konovalov

#21 - Ostap Safin

#22 - Logan Day

#23 - Filip Berglund

#24 - Ryan Mantha (we know)

#25 - Olivier Rodrigue

Otherwise? Still can’t get over that ‘Taylor Hall wants to come back’ stuff. Truly, remarkable. Huge if true type stuff. Think about that to get through your Monday.

Unless, of course, you don’t want that. In which case I’d humbly recommend you delete your accounts. All of them.

From Elsewhere

Sunil’s got a podcast! He’ll be confused as to how I linked to it before he posted it here, but that’s just journalism, folks.

“The main objective of this podcast series will be to discuss the Edmonton Oilers, including the team’s on-ice performance, roster construction and player evaluation. Each episode, I’ll be bringing in guests with different experiences and backgrounds to get their thoughts on the team as well as the rest of the league. Really looking forward to it!”

Speaking of LT, here he is on Gaetan Haas and Joakim Nygard. (Lowetide)

More LT, drawing parables between the 1980-81 Oilers and this year’s. (Lowetide)

...Still LT, with a full 50-man list breakdown as camp approaches. (Lowetide)

Pronman’s farm series. The Oilers have still not appeared and they’ve hit #20 already. Are other organizations really this bad?! (The Athletic)
