Short and sweet today. A light news day, as you might expect, given how light the transaction news has been coming out of Edmonton.

The Oilers announced they’d be keeping Paul Messier and Chris Cichocki - their incumbent pro scouts - as if the they haven’t had the most outrageously, egregiously pathetic record in that regard in the league over the last decade or so. It’s absolutely crazy to me that those guys still have jobs. It’s yet another item to add to the ‘Maybe Ken Holland isn’t actually good at all anymore’ list that has been accumulating for me this summer. I don’t know about you, but it’s certainly longer than I’d hoped.
Anyway, it’s only July right?!
Before you know it, it’ll be ‘only’ year 5 of Connor McDavid’s extension when he’s asking for a trade away from this mess. But I digress.
