The Oilers continue to make moves to solidify their bottom six. I’d say it’s pretty solid after today.

Tomas Jurco comes in at 750K. There’s a pretty good shot that he’ll begin the 2019-20 season in Bakersfield. A winger, Jurco was drafted in the second round in 2011. In 201 career games, he’s amassed 50 career points. His latest stint in the NHL was with the Chicago Blackhawks during the 2017-18 season where he picked up ten points (6-4-10) in 29 games. Jurco suffered back issues during the 2018-19 season and signed an AHL deal with Springfield. He later was dealt to Charlotte, where he and the Checkers put together an impressive run to the Calder Cup. Jurco finished with 18 points (7-11-18) in 18 playoff games. That’s not too shabby.

Jurco joins Jujhar Khaira (re-signed for two years), Markus Granlund (one year deal) and Alex Chiasson (re-signed, two years) as today’s big free agent meanderings. No matter what happens between now and when the new season starts, Holland has the bottom six on lockdown. Can he do something about the wings up top?
