Happy Canada Day, y’all.
The first day of the NHL’s free agency period begins at 10 AM MDT. Teams from far and wide are going to splash the pot hoping to add some big ticket names to their rosters. Anders Lee is projected to go for north of 8 million dollars a season. Artemi Panarin is just going to start printing money wherever he ends up.
The Oilers? They’re going to try and add some parts on a shoestring budget. Ken Holland bought out Andrej Sekera and freed up about 3MM in space, so here’s hoping there’s some good on the other end of that line. Ken Holland has his work cut out for him, and is going to have to really work some magic if he’s planning on adding anything significant to the roster in the coming days.
This is your 2019 free agent thread. Let’s all have fun out there.
