NHL: Edmonton Oilers at Calgary Flames Sergei Belski-USA TODAY Sports

Good morning!

Still feeling the effects from my Toronto trip, the links have been struggling to wake up to their alarm as much as their author has this week.

Yesterday was Development Camp day 2. We got a chance to get a bit more acquainted with the newest wave of hopeful Oilers while the first team extended qualifying offers to Fs Jujhar Khaira and Jesse Puljujarvi. Oh, and they released their schedule too. An outrageous amount of Saturday afternoon games. I guess when you spend the better part of a decade getting absolutely housed on HNIC, you lose that Saturday night love. Considering the Oilers still boast the most dynamic player arguably ever, that’s low, low praise.

Also, there’s a bit of smoke regarding Kris Russell. With guys like Tyler Myers looking to command outrageous contracts this summer, Kris Russell might have a market as a reasonably priced (LOL can you imagine?) plan B. Weird. And please.

Otherwise, let’s get after it. Happy hump day.

From Us

Someone, please, take him. (Copper and Blue)

Guy Carbonneau made it into the Hall of Fame yesterday. What even is this sport and why do we waste our time on it?! (Oilersnation)

There is also some smoke about a Talbot return to Alberta. But not our Alberta. Hopefully you get the bad Talbot, like we did. Also eat shit, Flames. (Oilersnation)

The Oilers are interested in F Gaetan Haas. Allegedly. (Oilersnation)

Lowetide’s daily dose. (Lowetide)

For Money

The Oilers are getting younger on defence, which may open up some spots for some rookies to make the first team. (The Athletic)

Lowetide again. This time on the Oilers top prospects. This time with a paywall. (The Athletic)
