Well, folks. It’s official. Ken Holland is officially - officially - the Edmonton Oilers GM and President of Hockey Operations as of shortly after 10:00am MST this morning. OEG CEO Bob Nicholson and Owner Daryl Katz both spoke at the press conference, and Holland himself spoke for a good clip before fielding questions for the remainder. I’ll save my opinion for now. If you’ve been following along the Copper and Blue’s socials at all this season/spring, you’ll know where I stand for the most part.
For those that are interested, below is the tweet-thread ‘transcript’ I tried to cobble together while at work this morning as the presser was live:
DISCLAIMER - The thread includes some jokes about Daryl Katz looking akin to Liza Minnelli from 30 years from now. It has since been reported that he’s been dealing with serious illness, and I wanted to apologize for jumping the gun. That sucks. I suck for that.
WHOA! Color me apologetic. Genuinely hope the man's health turns around for the better. You sort of associate Californian billionaire retirements with horrendous plastic surgery and that was a grave error on my part. https://t.co/plYAvfORSj

Anyway, here’s the actual thread:
OK folks, we're live. I'm at work but I'll do my best:
