Day, a right-handed, 6’1’’, 200-pound defenseman, paced the Bakersfield back end with 7-27-34 in 64 games in the AHL this season after signing an AHL-only deal with the Condors in 2018. Prior to that, the former USHL product spent one season with Providence in Hockey East (NCAA Division I) before spending two years in US college hockey’s lower tiers.
Day represents Ken Holland’s first bit of player business since becoming the Oilers GM a few weeks ago.
