Connor McDavid has been suspended by the NHL for two games following a hit to the head of the Islanders’ Nick Leddy.
What looked originally like an elbow at first turned more into a shoulder at the finish. Debate all you would like about the elbow versus the shoulder but it’s clear that Leddy’s head was the principal point of contact. I did expect McDavid to pick up a fine, but he’s picked up a couple of games along the way.
The Oilers will face the Ducks tomorrow and the Predators on Monday without Connor McDavid.
I gotta admit, I’m not too jazzed about watching this year’s Oilers without Connor McDavid on the roster. We got a slick little preview of that against the Coyotes the other night, and...well, nah.
