It’s GAMEDAY once again. The Oilers get a shot a redeeming themselves after pooping in their own Cooperalls on Wednesday night with Todd McLellan and the L.A. Kings in town. Last time these two teams met in Edmonton they combined for 11 goals, with the Oilers winding up on top of a 6-5 affair.
Another SBN FanPulse released last night, with fans tipping Connor McDavid as the early Hart favorite. And, can you blame them? Leon Draisaitl is doing his best McDavid impression this season but there is still a degree or two between the league’s two top scorers for me.
Further, if the league had any interest in rewarding, rather than punishing, McDavid for his otherworldly talents, the gap would be even wider. Dude should be drawing 3 penalties a game. It’s an absurd league but we watch it anyway.
Lowetide takes a look at the Oilers’ value contracts and whether there are any more on the way.
The Oilers were still being outshot earlier in the year, but were doing well to limit quality against. That seems to have stopped. Now they’re getting outshot, and failing to limit quality against. Helps to explain why you’re starting to see both goaltenders struggling a bit more of late.
Get read up and get back here for our GAMEDAY coverage and we’ll see you this evening for tonight’s big matchup. Til then.
