A bit behind schedule this morning but so what, wanna fight about it?!
The Oilers welcome the Senators to Rogers Place tonight for a game that has all the makings of a trap. The Senators have struggled of late, with five consecutive wins despite going 1-0 in stopping thieves. The Oilers returned to the win column last time out, but have seen their performances dip in games against similarly struggling teams earlier this year. Tonight marks the start of a four-game homestand for Edmonton.
Lineup information will be posted later today, and definitely wheel it back for our GAMEDAY coverage after breakfast.
The Oilers are enjoying their best start in about two decades. Might it be time to at least explore the idea of taking advantage of that?
Caleb Jones and Joel Persson switched places yesterday with Kris Russell’s status still uncertain. Stay tuned throughout the day for lineup information.
Matt Benning hit the IR yesterday leaving his second game in as many played (after a five-game break for a concussion) with a head injury. Godspeed, little doodle.
Mikko Koskinen continues to be a beacon of stability in the blue paint, especially when you contrast him against his frantic counterpart. Two very different approaches to stopping pucks and, right now at least, one of them is proving more reliable. Let’s hope Tippett sees it that way too.
