The Edmonton Oilers have announced that they’ve recalled F Colby Cave and re-assigned D William Lagesson this morning. Lagesson had yet to draw in during his brief call up, so Cave was brought back with Riley Sheahan’s status still up in the air after leaving Wednesday’s game with an injury. Cave has posted 0-3-3 in 6GP in California so far this season.
As per the Edmonton Oilers’ twitter account:

With Sheahan’s status still uncertain, it makes some sense for the Oilers to bring up another defensive centre in lieu of a defender they weren’t dressing. Especially so now that Lagesson will resume eating significant minutes stateside.
But then, the Oilers’ twitter retweeted this from radio voice Jack Michaels:
Practice day in the ‘Burgh. Oilers with an early “measuring stick” game against a club that’s scored 7 goals in 4 different games already (hadn’t been done in October since Pens also did it in ‘92).

With Sheahan back on the ice today, I expect same lineup (Smith in net). pic.twitter.com/Bec9o6Fmhu
So it remains to be seen whether it will be Sheahan or Cave drawing in tomorrow, but expect at least one of them to be in the lineup when the Oilers take on the Pittsburgh Penguins at 11AM MST. See you then.
