#Oilers welcome Ken Holland’s former team to Rogers Place, Ethan Bear talks about his start, Joakim Nygard hits IR, William Lagesson recalled. And MORE!

NHL: Philadelphia Flyers at Edmonton Oilers Perry Nelson-USA TODAY Sports

Morning, everyone. Happy Friday.

The Oilers will play host to the Detroit Red Wings later this evening, with Detroit looking to get on track after an iffy start and the Oilers looking to extend their stay at the top of the league.

Ethan Bear spoke about his hot start, as the young right-hander has begun to establish himself as a proper NHL defender this season.

Joakim Nygard was placed on injured reserve yesterday as the Oilers called up William Lagesson to bolster their D group now that it’s down to six healthy bodies.

Logic be damned, there does appear to be at least a little second-hand smoke to this Taylor Hall Triumphant Return stuff, and I’ve gotta tell ya - I’m here for it. I don’t necessarily care about the hows and the whoms or whatever.

Once again we’ve got a full slate of game day coverage on the docket for your consumption:
