Another game, another win, right? What a start it’s been so far for our Oilers. Granted, they had no business winning that game but Mikko Koskinen played out of his skin and Connor McDavid chipped in with 5 (!!!) points of his own to help carry the Oilers to all the points in a game they probably deserved none.
Coach Tippett was very much in agreement as his presser did not reflect that of a man whose team won 6-3 to improve to 6-1 on the year, but that all happened regardless of his mood.
In other words, we’re two full weeks into the NHL season now and the Oilers are tied for the league lead in goal difference (all strengths), points (with one fewer GP than Carolina), and trail only the Maple Leafs in goals scored.
Connor McDavid is on pace for 199 points at the moment, and Elliotte Friedman thinks there’s a non-zero chance Taylor Hall comes back to Edmonton. It was a crazy day, Oil fans.
Not all good news yesterday as Joel Persson and Joakim Nygard were confirmed to be out for up to 10 days and 4 weeks respectively.
