The #Oilers have placed forwards Ty Rattie & Ryan Spooner on waivers.
— Edmonton Oilers (@EdmontonOilers) January 21, 2019
Two Oilers are headed to Bakersfield this morning.
Ryan Spooner was acquired for Ryan Strome earlier this season. Spooner is now on his way to California. Ryan Spooner has just three points in 24 games, he’s headed to the AHL along with Ty Rattie.
Rattie has been up and down the lineup throughout the season, he’s fared slightly better than Ryan Spooner. In 29 games, Rattie has put up 2-6-8 this season.
That’s roughly 4 million in cap for eleven points. Heck, even Lucic is scoring in 2019.
OPTICS
That Jordan Eberle deal is looking worse every day. I didn’t even think that was possible at this point. Jordan Eberle is struggling this year with the Islanders (he’s got 23 points in 44 games this year) but three freakin’ points from Ryan Spooner is...well, uh, less than 23. It’s considerably less. Very much less.
This ugly train ride cannot end soon enough.
