THREE THINGS TO WATCH FOR
- Save for maybe Ryan Strome being held out of the lineup, this looks pretty close to what the Oilers could possibly roll with to start the season in just over a week. Is this team good enough to win against a Canucks team in preseason?
This from an NHL scout today:
— Bob Stauffer (@Bob_Stauffer) September 22, 2018
"Bouchard is going to make the Oilers out of the gate. He is their best puck-mover. Smart and poised when he has it.
They are going to have to work with him on defending, but he flat out makes plays.."
- Look for Evan Bouchard to be paired with Kris Russell. With only six players remaining to be cut, you can bet that Oilers GM Peter Chiarelli is hoping that Bouchard and Russell don’t look out of place in tonight’s tune up against Vancouver.
- Look for the third line that will feature Jujhar Khaira down the middle with Tobias Rieder and Jesse Puljujarvi on the wings. Is this what a third scoring line could look like?
