The Capitals are in the driver’s seat right now.
Coming off a 3-1 victory over the Vegas Golden Knights on Saturday night, they’re halfway through the series to a Stanley Cup. Even better for them? They’re hosting game 4. Could really tighten some screws if all goes their way.
Alex Ovechkin and Evgeny Kuznetsov each scored a goal in the second period of Saturday’s game. Devante Smith-Pelly had another for the Capitals late in the third, while Braden Holtby had 21 saves for the win.
That’s a tall glass of water for the Capitals’ captain. The Washington Capitals are two wins away from what would be their first ever Stanley Cup.
The Golden Knights are far from out of the series. though it’s important to note that they haven’t scored very much after a six goal outburst in game one. Vegas has scored just three goals total in their last 120 minutes of hockey, and that’s just not going to cut it against Washington.
Game 4 is tonight. Puck drop is scheduled for 6 PM MT / 8 Eastern
