Good Morning and happy Monday. There are only two cures for the Monday blues: Lasagna, and a weekend’s worth of spicy hot links. This weekend featured one of the most exciting off-ice occurrences possible in the NHL, a one-for-one trade involving two actual top of the roster type players. Luckily for Oilers fans, it didn’t involve any of our guys.

Here’s what we’ve got for you:

Arpon Basu examines how Marc Bergevin may have hurt Alex Galchenyuk’s trade value. (The Athletic)

Here at Copper&Blue, Jeff asks what we should expect from Ty Rattie in 2018-19. Also, Shona presents a strong case for the Oilers to say no to the possibility of courting Slava Voynov this offseason.

In other Oilers (offseason equivalent of) news, Jim Matheson speculates what kind of package the Oilers might be able to put together to land Erik Karlsson in a trade. (Edmonton Journal) In case you’re wondering, that link is about the defenceman from Ottawa, not the forward from the Swedish national junior team of a few years ago, with the same name.

Enjoy your day, and, as always, keep your stick on the ice.
