Two series down, two to go.
Earlier today, the Tampa Bay Lightning finished off the Bruins in just five games. Brayden Point, J.T. Miller and Anton Stralman each had a goal for the Lightning while Andrei Vasilevskiy had 27 saves en route to the victory for Tampa. The Lightning head to the Eastern Conference Championship to face off against the winner of Washington / Pittsburgh. The Capitals currently lead the series by 3-2, they’ll have the chance to close out the series on Monday.
VEGAS
The good times don’t stop for the Vegas Golden Knights. Vegas took care of the Sharks by a 3-0 margin and the series is over in six. Marc-Andre Fleury was perfect with 28 saves, while the Golden Knights got goals from Jonathan Marchessault, Nate Schmidt and Cody Eakin in the victory. Vegas heads to the Western Conference Championship, where they’ll face the winner between Winnipeg and Nashville. The Jets have a 3-2 lead over Nashville, and they’ll get the chance to close out the series at home on Monday.
A Vegas-Winnipeg conference final could not have been predicted nine months ago.
We’re one game away from it today.
