Lars Eller had three points in game 2 for the Capitals while Braden Holtby turned aside 37 of 39 Vegas shots. The Capitals have knotted the series up at one-all, and both clubs are headed to Washington for Saturday’s Game 3.

James Neal would get the Golden Knights out to a 1-0 lead eight minutes in the first. Lars Eller would knot it up at 1 by returning the favour nearly ten minutes later. Both teams would go to the dressing room after twenty minutes tied at one.

Alex Ovechkin would net his thirteenth of the playoffs in the second period, while Brooks Orpik netted his first goal of the playoffs in the second. Vegas’ Shea Theodore would cut the lead in half with a power play goal late in the second period to cut it to 3-2 Caps after two.

Braden Holtby was called upon to make some big saves, though none more spectacular than this one with two minutes remaining.

That might be the best save I’ve seen all year. It’s surely the best one I’ve seen in this series.

Tied at one game each, the Capitals will play game 3 against Vegas in Washington on Saturday night. Game time is scheduled for 6 PM MDT / 8 Eastern.
