Jake Guentzel scored four goals and had an assist as the Penguins took care of the Flyers by an 8-5 margin in a wild Game 6.
Guentzel now has 13 points in six playoff games (6-7-13), which isn’t too bad. Sean Couturier would also have five points for Pittsburgh (3-2-5) in a losing effort. Pittsburgh will go on to face the winner of Washington / Columbus. The Capitals hold a 3-2 series lead, they’ll get the chance to advance with a win on Monday night.
Nick Bonino had a three point night (1-2-3) and Pekka Rinne was perfect in net stopping 22 shots as the Nashville Predators cruised to a 5-0 victory over the Avalanche. The Predators clinch their series victory in six games, and they’ll face Winnipeg in round two.
STILL ALIVE
Along with Caps / Blue Jackets, The Bruins are up 3-2 over the Maple Leafs. They’ll have a chance to put a cap on their series on Monday night in Toronto.
OILERS
Just five days remain between now and Saturday’s NHL Entry Draft Lottery. The odds say that the Oilers have just a 5% chance to win it all, which is just a little less than half of what they needed to win in 2015. Get your popcorn ready.
