The Oilers have signed forward Ty Rattie to a one year contract extension.
The #Oilers have signed Ty Rattie to a one-year contract. The 25-year-old forward from Airdrie, AB appeared in 14 games with Edmonton this season, posting nine points (five goals & four assists). https://t.co/s41tieSlfS

Rattie spent most of the season in the AHL putting up a respectable 43 points in 53 games with the Condors.
After the trade deadline, he was called up to be “some guy” on Connor McDavid’s wing and put up 9 points in 14 games, including 5 goals.
This looks to be a cheap and relatively risk-free option for the Oilers going forward. It also looks like he can play and put up points... Until you see his shot% at 15.6. Maybe it works out, maybe it doesn’t. Either way, it’s unlikely to be a bad signing.
The Deal is for 800k. That’s pretty damn reasonable. If he can’t stick, he can be scratched, waived, traded, or sent to the AHL very easily.
