IT’S TIME FOR HOCKEY

Kind of wish that these teams were in a playoff hunt, but we’ll take what we can get at this point.

  • It’s Jordan Eberle night. Eberle’s on pace to score 59 points this season. You’ll remember Eberle as the guy who was traded for Ryan Strome and diddly-squat was done to replace Eberle. Some things never change.
  • You might also see Brandon Davidson tonight too.
  • Mathew Barzal is also here tonight, he’s going to be your rookie of the year barring something criminally wacky. Barzal could easily have himself a 75 point rookie season, which is pretty darn good.
  • The Islanders allow more goals than the Oilers do, which is something else. New York’s PK is only a tiny fraction better than Edmonton’s, which could provide for some real interesting special teams moments.
  • Adam Larsson is back. Milan Lucic missed practice yesterday due to an illness, but he’s back tonight. Cam Talbot will square off against Christopher Gibson. You’ll remember Christopher Gibson from...well, it’s Gibson’s sixth NHL game. So there’s that.
  • Goilers.
