The Oilers have a huge task on their hands as the Nashville Predators are in town. Nashville is looking for their 40th win, and to pad their lead on the Central Division. It’s a tall task, so some levity is in order.

  • That’s Ethan Bear hitting one off the tee in an Oilers Long Drive tournament held back in 2016. Bear will be making his regular season NHL debut tonight against a powerful Predators club. What to wish for? I’d like to see a point shot or two, especially on the power play. The Oilers really need this one to pan out. Good luck, young man.
  • Pontus Aberg faces his former club after being dealt to the Oilers on Monday. Aberg had an A+ assist on a Jesse Puljujarvi goal against the Sharks long after the Oilers were out of it. Aberg is another inexpensive option that the Oilers really need to pan out.
  • Where’s Milan Lucic? Probably on the top line again. I don’t know anymore.
  • Cam Talbot takes the start tonight for the Oilers against Nashville’s Pekka Rinne.
