Coach McLellan confirms @Bear25E will make his @NHL debut tonight.
— Edmonton Oilers (@EdmontonOilers) March 1, 2018
Defenceman Ethan Bear will make his regular season NHL debut tonight. The 20 year old has sixteen points in 34 games (6-10-16) in Bakersfield so far this year.
Bear is something that the Oilers could use as soon as next season. A right-shot defenceman who can put the puck on the net from the point, he’s getting thrown into the fire as the Nashville Predators are in town. With Adam Larsson out for the next two games to attend his father’s funeral back in Sweden, we could see him again on Saturday as the Oilers host the Rangers.
If Kris Russell (hand) is unavailable tonight, look for a RHD trio of Bear, Yohann Auvitu and Matt Benning.
