Thursday Morning Hot Links: Gold Medal

NHL: Boston Bruins at Edmonton Oilers Perry Nelson-USA TODAY Sports

Hello everyone, today we have a few links.

To start off, David Staples asserts that the Oilers should bench Patrick Maroon until he’s traded. It’s a bit of a hot take, and something that is never going to happen, although it does make sense. (Edmonton Journal)

Mark Letestu is under the impression that he’s getting traded. Also I didn’t know he had that many points in the playoffs last year. Also interesting that he doesn’t plan on bringing his kids if he’s traded. I understand not wanting to have to move now, and again on July 1st, but still, it’s freezing here. (Global)

I wrote about FInnish culture and premised it as talking about Jesse Puljujarvi. I’m a bit biased, but I believe it to be the best thing ever written about him. (Copper&Blue)

In some trade news, the Kings have traded backup goaltender Darcy Kuemper to the Arizona Coyotes in exchange for Tobias Rieder and Scott Wedgewood. (Jewels From The Crown)

At the time of this writing, in the only Olympic event I’ve watched so far, USA is beating Canada at womens hockey. It’s a damn good game so far and I look forward to seeing the final result. Congrats in advance to the winners.

The Oilers are taking on the Avalanche tonight. Sure would be nice to get a win...
