  • Second afternoon game in as many days. Oilers are coming off a 1-0 loss to the Coyotes yesterday that saw Edmonton’s only marker washed out after a goaltender interference call late in the third. If you missed Cam Talbot’s soundbite, it’s a doozy and you should probably give’r a (NSFW) listen.
  • Was kind of hoping Laurent Brossoit would get the start so Cam Talbot could just hurl obscenities at the officiating crew, but Talbot will play the second half of the back-to-back. Semyon Varlamov will get the nod for Colorado.
  • FROM THE OBVIOUS FACTS DEPARTMENT: Oilers are going to have to manage at least one goal in order to have a fighting chance at escaping Colorado with a win. Maybe this is the day Ryan Strome pops off.
  • In his press conference last week, Bob Nicholson mentioned that he was disappointed (along with the rest of us) with how this season has gone. The Oilers are mired in a six game losing streak, can they sneak a win out of Colorado?
