Caleb Jones To Make NHL Debut Against Philadelphia

NHL: Edmonton Oilers at Vancouver Canucks
Caleb Jones will get an opportunity tonight at home against Philadelphia

Caleb Jones is ready for the show.

With a rash of injuries appearing on the Oilers’ blue line, they’ve got to now juggle an already thin blue line. Kris Russell is out for at least a few more days with an undisclosed injury, so you can expect to see Caleb Jones make his NHL debut tonight. I think that also means that Jason Garrison is going to be with Matt Benning today, while Darnell Nurse and Adam Larsson will likely get top billing.

I’ll take three of these, please.

With 12 points in 21 games (2-10-12), Caleb Jones is the leading scorer among the defence in Bakersfield. He was drafted in the fourth round of the 2015 NHL Entry Draft. He’ll get the chance to make a impression on a team with significant holes among its defence corps.

Tonight, the Oilers are up against a Flyers club that’s struggled for consistency this season. While the Flyers have just twelve wins in twenty-nine games, I think it’d be best for the Oilers to put together another six goal outing like they did in Colorado a few nights ago.
