DOWN WITH NASHVILLE
Don’t look now, but the Oilers have defeated Washington and Nashville in their last two games. Edmonton’s 5-3 take down of the Predators was a nice surprise on a Saturday afternoon. The Oilers got a pair of goals from Leon Draisaitl, another goal from Connor McDavid and Drake Caggiula added two more including an empty netter. Mikko Koskinen won his first NHL game in over seven years. As Lowetide would say, Music!
Oilers are in Chicago just over 24 hours later to take on the Blackhawks. Can they turn back-to-back games into back-to-back wins?

THREE THINGS TO LOOK FOR
- THE BLACKHAWKS ARE STARTING CAM WARD: Oh, that’s good news. Cam Ward really hasn’t been great for the last handful of years. He’s trotting out an .885 SV% in six games so far this year. Get me McDavid and a breakaway already.
- TWO FOR TOBIAS: Tobias Rieder picked up a pair of assists last game. Alex Chiasson had a recent goal outburst, is it time for Tobias Rieder to pick up a few tallies?
- BOUCHARD WATCH: Evan Bouchard will again be a healthy scratch tonight, he’s appeared in seven games so far. For the first time this season, I’m starting to think that the Oilers might return him to London, especially if the team is on a little win streak. Matthew Benning returned to the lineup in Nashville, he’ll pair again with Jason Garrison this afternoon.
