THE OILERS finished their homestand at 2-1-1 with an impressive 4-1 victory over the Washington Capitals. They’re back on the road again with a visit to Nashville today. Nashville kept the Oilers off the board with a 3-0 shutout on Saturday, and the Oilers will no doubt be looking for some revenge this afternoon in Tennessee.
It’s an early start today, so let’s get a-crackin’.
THREE THINGS TO WATCH FOR
- Alex Chiasson has three goals in three games. I don’t know how many more goals he’s got in him on this little streak, but I’ll take any and all secondary scoring right now. Chiasson had eighteen points in 61 games with Washington last year. He’s got three goals in three games so far this year.
- IT’S MIKKO KOSKINEN DAY: Mikko Koskinen is playing in his first NHL game in over seven and one half years. The goaltender that Peter Chiarelli brought in “to challenge Cam Talbot” will start his first game of the season, and it’s against a formidable opponent. Not much to say out there other than go get ‘em.
- Connor McDavid has fourteen points in eight games (6-8-14). The Oilers aren’t going to win any games with zero goals, so the McDavid line will once again be called on to make magic.
