FOUR IN A ROW?

The Oilers won their second consecutive game in overtime when they toppled the Bruins by a 3-2 margin on Thursday night. Connor McDavid connected with Leon Draisaitl in overtime to send the Oilers to their third consecutive victory, the Oilers will look to make it four in a row this evening. The Predators lead the Central Division with six wins in seven, can the Oilers make a statement with a victory at home today?

Let’s go to the tape.

The Oilers are saying

It was one of the best feelings I’ve ever had

That’s Kailer Yamamoto on scoring his first NHL goal in Edmonton’s 3-2 OT victory over Boston. Yamamoto’s goal brought the Oilers to a 1-1 tie in the first. First one’s the hardest to get, right? Good. Now go get twenty more.

The Predators are saying

That’s the way it goes sometimes, and the teams that are going to come out on top of those games are the teams that stick with the game plan and are patient in their system.

That’s Zac Rinaldo on getting the game winning goal in last night’s 5-3 victory over the Calgary Flames.

Zac Rinaldo is a Nashville Predator. What year is it?

HAVE SOME OF THIS

  • LINES : Oh, there’s a whole bunch of changes. Kailer Yamamoto is on the top line, Alex Chiasson is 3RW. Check out all the changes over here.
  • Seeing Kailer Yamamoto score a goal is great. It’s great to see a goal coming off of a stick in addition to McDavid. This isn’t a complaint about Connor McDavid, I’m just looking to spread the offence around a little.
  • BANGED UP: Kevin Gravel was recalled last night, but Jason Garrison will fill in tonight on 3LD. Matt Benning is on the IR with an undisclosed injury. Ty Rattie is also likely out for today’s game.
  • NET GAINS: I’d look for Cam Talbot to get the nod again today (3-2-0, .902 SV% / 2.81 GAA) for the Oilers. Juuse Saros (3-0-0, ,917 SV% / 2.23 GAA) relieved Pekka Rinne in last night’s Predators/Flames contest after Rinne suffered a collision. Look for Saros to get the start tonight in Edmonton.
  • SICK BAY: Andrej Sekera (ankle) is out. Matt Benning is out (undisclosed), expect Ty Rattie to be out today (undisclosed). For Nashville, Mikka Salomaki is questionable after taking a stick to the face last night, while Auston Watson is suspended.
