  • The Canucks are beating the Blue Jackets at the time of this sentence, and a win tonight coupled with an Oiler loss would push the Canucks up to sixth place. The Oilers would slide into seventh place. At 39 points (and with 76 possible points on the board), the Oilers would need about 55 points over the remaining 38 games in order to entertain a shot at the second season. 25-8-7. Live it.   • The Oilers should clobber the Coyotes by four or five goals. Arizona allows the second most goals in the NHL, they score the second fewest (2.26). If the Oilers can’t absolutely handle this club, the draft coverage is gonna ramp up sooner than expected.
