Wednesday Morning Hot Links: It’s All Yamamoto

Hello everyone, I’m a bit exhausted so pardon the tone of the links.

TSN has released its annual Top-50 NHL players for the coming season. Three Oilers players have made the list in Cam Talbot, Leon Draisaitl and Connor McDavid. I’d like to have seen Oscar Klefbom get some love but looking at the list there aren’t any obviously worse players. On the plus side they finally ranked Jonathan Toews closer to where he should have been throughout his entire career. (TSN)

CBC Sports did an Oilers season preview. It’s a very short piece about last season, the off-season, and best and worst cases for this year. (CBC)

The Oilers sent down Nick Ellis, Patrick Russell, Ty Rattie and Dillon Simpson. (Copper&Blue)

Now I’m going to post a bunch of links about Kailer Yamamoto. It’s all anyone wrote about yesterday beyond that other thing.

Here is Paige comparing him to Sam Gagner. (Two for Crosschecking)

A TSN video where Craig Button shows that he didn’t watch a single Oilers game last year in hoping Klefbom can make the jump and be the player that he already is. (TSN Video)

Mark Spector getting in on the Yamamoto vs Jesse Puljujarvi dog pile. (Sportsnet)

A Three minute video from the guys who do hockey central at noon about Yamamoto and the Oilers being patient with him. (Sportsnet Video)

And finally, the Hockey News counting down eight players who have raised eyebrows this season. This one is unique because it doesn’t included Yamamoto. (The Hockey News)

That’s all for today, there’s another preseason game tonight and we’ll have full coverage as always. Comment below.
