Good Morning, I hope you avoided the game last night.

To start things off, Corsica has joined the Oilers Nation network. This is a good thing for us consumers that a monster blog like Oilers Nation managed to snag one of the best analytics professionals and put it in a great spot with their articles. (OilersNation)

Jonathan Willis gives his take on Kailer Yamamoto potentially making this team. It was written before the game last night that largely removed all doubt. Look, he’s going to make opening night and so far I’m under the impression that he’s going to play a lot more NHL games than the 9-game tryout. He’s already better than every RW we have beyond Leon Draisaitl and I don’t imagine McLellan is as concerned about the contract status as he is about winning games. That was me getting on my soap-box a little bit but here’s the Willis Article. (The Athletic)

The Calgary Flames decided it would be a good idea to have their President publicly call them a ‘have not’ team. Apparently they’re still not looking to get a new arena but are doing their very best to make sure you know that. I’m sure we’ll never hear about this again... (TSN)

Gary Bettman says teams will adjust to the slashing rules. My guess is that the refs adjust to prior interpretations but we’ll see. (Sportsnet)

Brad Malone is quietly having a really good camp. He was signed to be an injury call-up/AHL veteran but he might have played his way into the healthy scratch conversation with the big club. Sammi discusses. (Oil on Whyte)

Just for the record, I am intentionally leaving out every article and video regarding the biggest story in sports right now. Please leave that particular topic to twitter or other outlets, thanks. That’s it for me, I’m assuming the game recap will be up on the main page by the time you’re reading this, give it a look.
