Who wants some Links?

The Oilers won last night, this time against the Jets. Jeff has the recap covered in case you’re like me and have no interest in watching preseason hockey but still want to know what happened. Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, Jussi Jokinen and Mark Letestu were allegedly pretty good. Also of note is how few penalties there were. (Copper & Blue)

A new Athletic writer suggests that Jesse Puljujarvi can really help the Oilers this year. He might. I haven’t seen any evidence of it but he might. There’s no questioning how skilled the player is but until I see otherwise, his hockey sense will pain me. (The Athletic)

DownGoesBrown brings out the new season’s resolution list as he does every year. It has a few good ones that should be taken somewhat seriously. It’s a funny read at the very least. (Sportsnet)

In case you missed the Joffrey Lupul fiasco the other day: He made some comments about the Leafs obviously abusing the LTIR rule. It’s the worst kept secret in the league and it also gives me hope for Lucic’s contract once he starts to decline. Anyway, he has gone against his original post and has decided that he isn’t interested in getting a second medical evaluation. Quite frankly, I’d also elect to take the 5M to stay home vs an attempt to return with a buyout. (TSN)

Finally, when it comes to Connor McDavid and Leon Draisatil, how would you deploy the two in the lineup? Cam Lewis gives us a ton of options and opinions. I still don’t see a need to act like this is a one and done decision but I guess that’s just me. (OilersNation)

That’s all for today. Comment Below.
