FOR EDMONTON:
- The Oilers are coming off their split-squad victories against the Calgary Flames on Monday. Edmonton toppled the Flames 5-2 at home, while hanging on in Calgary to win 5-4.
- There’s no Connor McDavid (loud sigh). There’s no Leon Draisaitl, and there’s no Jesse Puljujarvi. Or Patrick Maroon. (lesser sighs).
- GOOD: Kailer Yamamoto will play his second preseason game after an impressive two point outing on Monday (1-1-2).
- LINE JUMBLER, ETC - The bottom six is going to be something. PTO Chris Kelly tries to snag a contract, while tough guys Ty Rattie and Brad Malone are set to get some ice time.
- Laurent Brossoit will start in net.
FOR THE JETS
- Jets are going with a full NHL lineup, so this one may be a little shaky from the start. A top line of Patrik Laine - Mark Scheifele - Blake Wheeler will likely be tough to combat if the bottom six is out there.
- Five regulars on defence will take the ice for the Jets. Sami Niku is the only fresh face out of the crowd. The seventh rounder from the 2015 NHL Entry Draft was signed to an ELC in May of this year.
- Steve Mason starts tonight in goal for the Jets. Here’s hoping the Oilers get ‘Blue Jackets’ Mason tonight instead of ‘Flyers’ Mason.
