That’s not a link but it is general news. No article about it yet. Safin is very hard to predict as his stats are largely a secret. If he’s good, we may have made a big mistake in our T25 rankings. Hopefully he’s good in the QMJHL.

Oilersnerd made a fantastic article about a lot of things. He compared Leon Draisaitl, Connor McDavid, Kris Russell and of course Ryan Nugent-Hopkins. I don’t want to talk too much about it because the article does a much better job than I can. It’s a great read. (OilersNerdAlert)

Travis Yost wonders if Corsi has lost it’s predictive nature. I’ve always viewed it as more of a coincidental indicator than a leading, personally. Corsi is one of those things that is both extremely useful and taken too far. Small sample size can be cited for entire seasons and dismissed if the Kings win 16/25 games. Corsi and other advanced stats are great as long as it’s used to draw a conclusion and not force one. (TSN)

Lowetide takes a look at Russell. I know we all are well aware of what people think of him, but these articles aren’t going away until the Oilers find a way to keep Nugent-Hopkins. They’re related and will be beaten into the ground for the foreseeable future. (Lowetide)
