Friday Morning Hot Links: Remaining UFAs

NHL: Florida Panthers at Toronto Maple Leafs Dan Hamilton-USA TODAY Sports

It’s Friday, let’s start the weekend right!

Team Canada releases its development camp roster. It looks 0K but only contains two Oilers prospects, both of whom are goaltenders. Good luck to Stuart Skinner and Dylan Wells! (Hockey Canada)

The Edmonton Oilers and Nick Holden might be a match. As I mentioned yesterday, I’m very much against this idea because I am not a fan of Holden’s work. That being said there is a bit of a case to be made here. (The Hockey Writers)

This is an analysis suggesting that Kailer Yomamoto might be able to crack the line up as early as this season. The kid has skill, there’s no doubt there. (Oil on Whyte)

There are still a few remaining UFAs. The Oilers look like they’re done making moves but I’m still holding out hope for either Jaromir Jagr or Cody Franson. Here is a list of the 10 best remaining. (Sportsnet)

Andrei Markov has decided to pack up and head to the KHL. He was reportedly willing to accept a one year deal but only with the Canadiens. They decided that Mark Streit was a better option for reasons that I can only assume are similar to the thinking that Shea Weber is better than PK Subban. (TSN)

Edit for new information: The Top25 Under25 lists are scheduled to start this Tuesday and will run throughout August. We will be running 2 Top 25 players per day until the top 5. The Links will continue as well, so be prepared to clear your schedule. You’ll have at least three Copper&Blue stories to click per day.

That’s all, enjoy your weekend. Comment section is open.
