Defenceman Brian Campbell has called it a career after eighteen years. He's headed to the Chicago front-office, which is a shame because he could've fit in nicely on the Oiler blue this year.

Adam Larsson is the top defenceman that the New Jersey Devils miss, even though he doesn't lead any statistical category or measurement of note. He did finish seventh in hits during the 2016-17 season, which seems to be worth something to somebody somewhere.

2017 first round Oiler selection Kailer Yamamoto has been named to Team USS for the Junior Summer Hockey Showdown . The tournament will take place in Plymouth, Michigan beginning on July 28th and it will last until August 5th.
