Duck Calls

The Ducks roared back with a 6-3 victory in game 3. Edmonton managed to climb back from a three goal deficit midway through the game, but the Ducks regained the lead less than a minute after Edmonton made it 3-all.

Up 2-1 in the series, the Oilers will look to regain control with a big win tonight.

Let's go to the tape.

The Oilers are saying

That's Oilers forward Jordan Eberle. who is feeling the heat after game 3

Eberle has two assists in nine playoff games.  He was third in team scoring with 51 points (20-31-51) during the regular season.  Edmonton lost a game, so it's Eberle and Pouliot involuntarily shouldering the blame right now.

The opponents are saying

That's Ducks forward Corey Perry on Anaheim's time between games 3 and 4.

Kelowna!  Home of the Rockets.  Former Oiler Jason Smith coaches in Kelowna these days.  Anaheim took a couple of days off in Kelowna to get out of the 'hockey hotbed'.  If they take two games from Edmonton at Rexall Place, it'll look like a brilliant move.

Have some of this

  • I mean, I think McDavid is pretty good too.
  • PUNITION: Ducks went 0/4 on their extra man advantage.  This is great, save for the whole "Ducks score three to start" business. Edmonton went 0/3 on their power play.
  • Not going away any time soon
  • Ducks' Defenceman Kevin Bieksa will miss game 4 with a lower body injury.  That means more Clayton Stoner for everyone.
  • Cam Talbot (6-3, .918 SV% / 2.47 GAA / 2 SO) will get the start tonight for Edmonton, while John Gibson (4-2, .911 SV% / 2.80 GAA) will go for the Ducks.
