  • The first period left lots to be desired, but the Oilers made a game of it with goals from David Desharnais and a power play goal from Connor McDavid. The Oilers earned a point by taking the game to overtime, then a shootout. The Oilers own third place outright, a point ahead of the red-hot Flames. Anaheim dropped a 4-3 decision to the Blues, they remain in second place with 80 points.
  • POINTS - David Desharnais’ goal was his first as an Oiler, and his second point in three games. A safe bet that he’ll be on the third line for some time. McDavid’s power play goal in the third is his 23rd goal of the season, and his 75th point on the year.
  • NEXT: The Flames are on the road to take on the Jets tonight. The Oilers will face off against Carey Price and the Canadiens at home. Oilers are 1-1-1 so far in their eight game homestand at Rogers Place, and will no doubt look to push upwards in the Pacific.
