  • After a less than enthralling performance in Tampa Bay, the Oilers get back into the win column with a 4-3 victory over the Florida Panthers.  Two points for the Oilers keep them in second place with a game in hand over the Anaheim Ducks.
  • Kris Russell had the game winning goal in last night's Oilers victory.   Russell's last goal was 378 days ago as a member of the Calgary Flames.  Russell picked a fine time to break the streak.
  • DUCKS KEEP PACE - Anaheim's 5-3 victory over the Bruins keep them tied with the Oilers in points, although the Oilers have a game in hand.
  • Flames will try to hold onto the second wild card spot in the Western Conference as they take on the Lightning tonight.
  • SOME MOVEMENT: Carolina has dealt Ron Hainsey to the Pittsburgh Penguins for a second round pick and prospect Danny Kristo.  Hainesy is your perfect rental player on an expiring deal - he fills a gap after Olli Maatta's hand surgery that will likely keep Maatta out until late March.
  • SPEAKING OF DEALS:  Don't miss our deadline coverage on March 1st.  We'll be covering the trade deadline from top to bottom, and I don't know about anyone else, but I'll probably be cranky as hell.
