Edmonton Oilers Open Thread: Five Goals!

New, comments

The Oilers had scored two goals in their previous four games before last night. They scored five against the Coyotes.

It took a period to get going, but once they started, they didn't stop.

  • It took the Oilers a period to get going, but they dumped a five spot on Arizona during the forty minutes afterwards.  Leon Draisaitl scored his 21st of the season on the power play, Matt Hendricks, Mark Letestu, Oscar Klefbom, and Patrick Maroon scored his 20th on the season.  They scored more goals in 40 minutes than the last four games combined.  They scored more than *DOUBLE* the goals in 40 minutes than the last four games combined.  Good times.
  • ELSEWHERE IN THE PACIFIC: Anaheim scored just one goal against the Wild last night, and it was good enough because the Wild scored zero.  The Canucks failed to register a goal as they were shutout by the Penguins by a 4-0 margin.
  • Sharks at 73, Ducks at 70, and the Oilers are good enough right now at 68.  Calgary and Vancouver stink.
  • UPCOMING: Oilers will face off against the Flyers on Thursday in their third and final game of their homestand.  It's mid-February, and the Oilers are one game away from tying their season win total in 2015-16 when they went 31-48-8.
  • Looks like that PP QB1 isn't coming this year at the deadline. Though, it's nice to be a buyer for once.
