Anton Slepyshev is ready to go. He’ll likely get his chance on Thanksgiving versus the Winnipeg Jets.
Slepyshev’s ankle injury forced him to miss nearly all of this year’s training camp. A quick trip down to Bakersfield to open the season against Stockton on Friday, and by Saturday he was recalled to Edmonton. The Oilers will thrust him into the lineup with the force of a thousand suns on Monday when the Winnipeg Jets come to Edmonton. It’s fairly safe to bet that he’ll be with Milan Lucic and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins as he skated alongside them today in practice.
Slepyshev has eleven points in 52 career games. He scored three playoff goals in the 2016-17 playoffs.
ETC.
Zack Kassian skated on the third line with Ryan Strome and Jussi Jokinen. Kailer Yamamoto and Iiro Pakarinen skated on the fourth line. After Yamamoto took the healthy scratch against Vancouver on Saturday, I’d expect to see Iiro on line four tomorrow night.
Drake Caggiula is listed as day-to-day with an unknown ailment.
