Good morning, have some links.
NHL legend Ken Dryden has written a book to come out today. It’s a story about Steve Montador and his battle with concussions. Dryden has been an anti-head shot advocate for years. He wants the league to completely eliminate hits to the head by all means necessary. (MacLeans)
DownGoesBrown’s weekend wrap up is here. The Oilers are not in the top-5. Shocking, I know. (Sportsnet)
The Edmonton Oilers have placed Leon Draisaitl on IR. This sounds like big news but it really isn’t — it’s retroactive to a week ago so he can play as soon as he’s ready to go. (TSN)
Jeff tells us that now isn’t the time to panic. I agree but I’m well aware that others do not. Regardless of your position, let us know why. (Copper&Blue)
Lowetide gives us some recent news and shows us that the Oilers are in fact dominating games despite not having a record reflecting it. Seriously, once this team gets a few wins, we’ll forget all about the last 3 scores and see how unnecessary the current mood really is. (Lowetide)
The Oilers take on the Carolina Hurricanes tonight at Rogers Place. If you checked you TV channels you’ll notice that this is another PPV game. Rogers Sportsnet apparently think people choose to pay for cable to have baseball and WWE on every friggen channel instead of an Oilers game. Putting baseball and WWE on overlapping channels is about the equivalent of having Rickard’s Red on tap at every bar. It’s always available, you’d rather have something good and you can’t remember a single instance of anyone actually ordering it. That’s my rant for the day.
That’s all for today, enjoy the weather.
