Good morning all, I hope you had a good weekend, lets get to it.

Robin Brownlee kicks off with an excellent feature regarding the current situation. It’s incredibly refreshing seeing a level-headed piece with so many sky is falling takes going around right now. It’s just part of the business when you’re a 1-3 team in Canada. (Oilers Nation)

David Staples gives us his post-game grades from the embarrassment against the Ottawa Senators the other day. He has a few players too high. Specifically, Iiro Pakarinen and Jujhar Khaira. (Edmonton Journal)

Mark Spector points out that the Edmonton Oilers aren’t living up to their cup contender hype. It’s not a unique position to take but he makes a case for it anyway. (Sportsnet)

Ex-NHLer Shawn Thornton contributes to The Players Tribune to talk about fighting, why he likes fighting, who taught him to fight and why the world will end if players stop fighting. Maybe not that last thing. (The Player’s Tribune)

The Oilers have placed Drake Caggiula on injured reserve with an undisclosed injury, they’re now admitting that Leon Draisaitl has a concussion and they have recalled Brad Malone from Bakersfield. If it gets one of the passengers out of the lineup, this is a great move. Kailer Yamamoto can hold his own on Connor McDavid’s line in the meantime. (Oil on Whyte)

That’s all for today, comment below.
