Wednesday Morning Hot Links: Panic Time?

Edmonton Oilers v Vancouver Canucks Photo by Rich Lam/Getty Images

Good Morning. Slow week this week and after two bad losses there are lots of takes.

We’ll start off with a Staples article outlining the 7 things wrong with the Oilers right now. I can’t say I disagree with many of them. (Edmonton Journal)

There are wild fires in California right now and Grant Fuhr is among those displaced. Jim Matheson has his quotes on the matter here. (Edmonton Journal)

I guess the NBA’s Houston Rockets have a new owner. The man is interested in bringing a hockey team there as well. Personally I think it’s a pretty good idea to have America’s 4th largest city, and a sports hot bed, house an NHL team. (Sportsnet)

In coincidental news, the Carolina Hurricanes sold less than half of their seats in last nights affair vs the Columbus Blue Jackets. I still think Anaheim is overlooked when it comes to people mocking hockey markets, but this is pretty bad. (Sportsnet)

Ryan Nugent-Hopkins has played pretty well through three games despite the record. Sammi breaks it down. (Oil on Whyte)

Jason Gregor thinks we need to calm down about the last two games given how early in the season we are. I tend to agree with him. I actually was going to write about our pro-scouting this week but I don’t think it’s appropriate until a point in time where it won’t look like a hot taek. After Saturday’s win might be an option. (Oilers Nation)

That’s it for links today. Enjoy the day and comment below.
