Drake Caggiula Commits to the Oilers

Former UND Fighting Hawk, Drake Caggiula has committed to the Oilers.

N/A

According to multiple reports by some of the top hockey insiders, former UND Fighting Hawk, Drake Caggiula has committed to the Oilers.

Neither the Oilers website nor twitter account have officially announced anything yet but that is probably because a contract hasn’t been signed yet. Just a shot in the dark but I’d guess that everything should be official within 24 hours. You can expect Caggiula’s contract to be a 2 year ELC with all of his bonuses maxed out.

The 21 year old is easily the top forward prospect in the Oilers system. He slots in ahead of Anton Slepyshev, Bogdan Yakimov and Jujhar Khaira. Hopefully the Oilers will take it slow with Caggiula and give him at least 60 games in Bakersfield this season. Give him a lot of playing time in Bakersfield while preparing him for a longer season than he is used to playing in the NCAA. Conditioning is key if Caggiula is to crack the NHL and play a significant role with the Oilers in the future.
